We are friends living in the Netherlands who are passionate about fashion, love to dress up and change outfits, as it is fun and makes us happy. We enjoy creating our unique styles by going to vintage shops and fairs all around the Netherlands to find some really original pieces to extend our wardrobe.

Our closets are filling up and following the multiple collections every year to keep up with the latest trends is not sustainable. We end up buying lots of beautiful items that we wear once or twice, or even clothes with price tags that never saw daylight and are still hanging in our closets. Also, fast fashion has a disastrous effect on the environment and our decisions as a consumer has a huge impact.

Going to second-hand fairs is time-consuming. We looked into possibilities to buy second-hand items online, but we found nothing that would suit our desires, as we were looking for a user friendly, personalized website where we can find selected valuable items only, so we created mooimarkt.

In mooimarkt we want to create a community for like-minded people who love fashion, want to look good, and feel amazing inspired by others, but be wise and responsible for how our choices impact the environment. We want to encourage sustainability and a circular economy, where we reuse, exchange, appreciate, take good care, and pay attention to our belongings and towards each other. We prefer to choose quality over quantity and be inspired by other people's styles and personalities. We can reduce fashion's environmental impact by changing our habits by buying less brand new clothes, selecting sustainable brands, not throwing our clothes away, buying second hand and swapping clothes, and keeping an eye on washing. It will have a huge impact on the environment as every small action matters for a better future and love for this beautiful planet.
